Historical accuracy
Dates, gear ratios, and measurements are transcribed from archives, catalogues, and correspondence as faithfully as I can, and corrected publicly when errors surface (see Contact for how to report one). Reconstructions and diagrams are my own interpretations of mechanism descriptions — faithful, but illustrations, not engineering drawings. Do not build safety-critical hardware from them.
